South Beach
If you walk from the port along the coastline, the first beach you’ll come to is Yuzhny; what sets it apart is that it has the widest sandy strip, up to 100 meters. The price for a beach umbrella or a lounge chair is two and a half euros.
Adjacent to South Beach is a swimming and sports center with two pools—one of which is outdoor and open year-round—as well as a spa offering massage services and a fitness center. There are no water attractions on the beach itself.
Many cafes have their own beach areas like this one, where you can enjoy drinks and snacks while relaxing on a lounge chair or in a specially equipped area with soft cushions or sofas.
Central Beach
Next is Central Beach, which is home to a large number of small restaurants, bars, and clubs. There are no water attractions on this beach.
In the summer, it’s always bustling and lively here. And as evening falls, it gets even livelier: numerous nightclubs and beach discos open for business. Primorsky Park adjoins Central Beach. It’s a perfect combination: the sea, the sun, the sand, and green spaces where you can find some cool relief from the midday heat.
The beach strip is located below the main entrance to the Seaside Garden and extends approximately 500 meters north to Rybarsky Beach.
The beach has fine sand, a flat bottom, and is very popular thanks to its convenient location. Accessories are available for a fee: lounge chairs and umbrellas.
The restored buildings of the former seaside baths block the direct view of the sea from the designated «Capt. Georgy Georgiev» pedestrian zone and now house beach establishments that attract many visitors. You can sunbathe and enjoy a coffee or a cocktail with your feet buried in the sand, or admire the sea from one of the many terraces while savoring a selection of food and drinks.
The beach is packed with visitors from sunrise to sunset, and in the evening, it invites you to take a stroll to the sound of the waves and the music coming from the clubs there.
Vehicles are not allowed in the designated pedestrian zone or in the Sea Garden, but you can use the parking lots above Primorsky Boulevard or the large parking lot near the Sea Terminal and walk to the beach in ten minutes.
You can take public transportation (buses 17a, 20, and 39 to the «Festivalen Complex» stop).
Fishermen's Beach
Fishermen's Beach isn't really suitable for swimming, since it's mostly rocky. But there's a string of cafes along it offering a variety of cuisines.
Officers' Beach
Next is Officer's Beach. One of the highlights of this beach is a hydrogen sulfide pool with hot water that gushes from deep underground year-round.
Rapongi Beach
Next up is the popular Rapongi Beach, named after the restaurant. This is where you'll find the most expensive umbrellas and lounge chairs—5 euros each.
Bunite Beaches 1, 2
Next are the “Bunite 1 and 2” beaches. Nearby, you’ll find restaurants, bars, and various attractions. The beach is wider and well-maintained, with both free sections and an area offering paid amenities. Beach volleyball courts and the chance to jump off the breakwater attract many young people.
In winter, the beach also attracts visitors with an interesting natural phenomenon, thanks to a nearby hot mineral spring known as «Warm Waters»—hundreds of swans spend the winter here, drawing crowds of admirers.
«Pochivka» Beach»
“Pochivka” Beach has sand and large rocks; the drop-off into the sea is steep, and just a few meters from the shore, the water is deep enough to reach an adult’s full height. Not suitable for small children. Small toy trains run along the promenade, just as they do in the park. There are also beaches on the other side of the city, across the bridge in Asparuhovo.
