All campers in Bulgaria will now pay for an e-vignette.
Starting today, all campervans in Bulgaria will pay an electronic vignette, the API announced. Previously, category M1 campervans weighing less than 3.5 tons were required to have a vignette, while those weighing over 3.5 tons were subject to a toll. According to amendments and additions to the Roads Act, published today in the State Gazette, category M1 campervans listed on the vehicle registration certificate are now required to pay a vignette, regardless of their overall permissible maximum weight.
Prices for electronic vignettes for passenger cars up to 3.5 tons, as well as trailers or vans attached to them, will remain unchanged in 2024. The annual fee is BGN 87, the quarterly fee is BGN 48, the monthly fee is BGN 27, and the weekly fee is BGN 13. The price of the weekend vignette remains unchanged at BGN 9.
A separate electronic vignette for a trailer or caravan is only required if their combined weight, when attached to the vehicle, exceeds 3.5 tons. Electronic vignettes for a car and trailer/caravan can have different durations, as needed. For example, a vignette for a car can be valid annually, while a vignette for a trailer or caravan can be valid monthly, weekly, or for another duration.
