Burgas and Varna Airports: Runway-view terraces for passengers

Varna and Burgas airports will introduce unique terraces overlooking the runway.

In the summer of 2025, Varna and Burgas airports will open runway-facing terraces as part of the environmentally sustainable Gate Garden concept. This information was released by the concessionaire Fraport Twin Star Airport Management.

The Gate Garden concept includes the creation of low-carbon, green terraced spaces, a breakthrough solution for European airports. The new architectural concept will reduce the airport's environmental footprint and lead to significant resource savings.

According to Fraport Twin Star, these transformations will improve the quality of passenger service and enhance the functionality of the terminal infrastructure, as well as pave the way for further innovation.

The terraces will offer a central view of the runway, creating a unique atmosphere for passengers and airport guests.

The official opening of the new zones is scheduled for early summer 2025.
